Photography

I took this photograph of my father for a painting class and never ended up using it. I ran across it in my iphoto and really enjoyed all the the activity moving around him and the expression on his face. Wish I had a nicer camera but I think even with a basic camera this photo has a strong narrative. My dad is a small business owner in a small central Minnesota town. Its inspiring to be his daughter and know that he had the motivation and drive to take my grandfathers bankrupt company and turn it into a business that has supported our family for 30+ years.

an Infatuation.

I've been doing these pen drawings a lot lately and I'm still unsure where they are going to lead. I'd like to try drawing at a larger scale to see what would happen. I'm intrigued by the final results but a little unsure of how to talk about them. It is a mystery at this point. I'm infatuated to say the least.

Surreal Animal Drawings

I have been involved so intensely in my student teaching this fall I have had no time to post, but that doesn't mean I wasn't creating art. I worked with an AP Studio class at the high school for the past ten weeks and they inspired me so much. Its great to be surrounded by such creative and innovative students who are willing to soak up any advice and critique you have to give them. Truly an inspiring group. These are a couple drawings I created from this inspiration.
